St James Catholic College, Cygnet, is a Catholic, co-educational school providing outstanding educational opportunities for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. It has an enrolment of approximately 300 students.

St James Catholic College was established in 1896 by the Sisters of St Joseph (whose co-founders were St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Julian Tension Woods) St Mary of the Cross MacKillop believed she could make a difference in children's lives by providing them with an education centered on the care and development of faith. Her famous quote is "Never see a need without doing something about it”. This spirit still lives among us at St James Catholic College in our day to day lives.
