From the Principal
Dear friends of St James Catholic College,
WELCOME BACK
Welcome back to Term 4, 2025.
A SIGNIFICANT MOMENT FOR OUR COLLEGE
To round off their unit on Australian Catholic Identity, the Year 10 Religious Education class hosted Mr Gerard Synnott, a former student of Lourdes Hill Agricultural School, and Br Peter Flint, a Christian Brother. The students asked both men about their recollections of school life in Cygnet and life as a Christian Brother.
Br Flint's presence was of special note as he will be moving to Melbourne very shortly, signifying the last Christian Brother on the island of Tasmania. This is a significant moment for the state and our school, considering what a debt we owe to the Christian Brothers for their work in establishing schools in Tasmania, especially here in Cygnet.
All the best Br Flint, and God Bless you in your move to the Big Island!
