From the Principal
Dear friends of St James Catholic College,
ALL THE BEST
Well, we have made it! We have come to the end of another term and I wish everyone, particularly our students and staff, all the best for the term break.
STAFF CHANGES FOR TERM 4
After the first three weeks of term 4, I will be taking the renewal leave. During that time we will have a few staff changes; below is a basic outline:
- I accepted the resignation of Mrs Judith Collison. Her last day will be on the 16 October, after which she will be taking up a new position with a family business. Click here to view the position advertisement for the Front Office.
- Mr Seamus Toman - Please click here to view the announcement from Executive Director, Dr Gerard Gaskin that was shared on Wednesday 10 September regarding the Acting Deputy Principalship at St James Catholic College.
- Mr Brett Tanner - As most would know, Brett gave over a decade of service to us as Deputy Principal, and is currently our Daily Organiser. He has now decided he will be retiring TOTALLY from 19 November this year.
- Miss Maddi Cordwell - will be completing her Professional Experience in Year 2 from 13 October until 7 November.
- Mrs Catherine Askey-Doran will be working Monday to Thursday in the Learning Support role with Mrs Jacinta Langley working with her on Tuesdays.
- Mrs Gillian Ryan will be the Secondary Pastoral Care Coordinator.
- Miss Rhiannon Lloyd joins us to take primary HPE, Year 9 Homeroom, Year 7G HPE and 7B English.
- Mr Fred Cheney will take Mr Wayne Nielson’s teaching load for Term 4 as Wayne continues to recover from an accident he had during the last Christmas break.
- Until Mr Olaf Weerts returns from leave, Mr Tony Robbie will take his Secondary Maths classes.
I will be taking Renewal Leave at the end of week 3 and Mrs Elizabeth Radnidge takes over after that!
SCHOOL CLOSURE
From time to time, due to extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances, school may need to be cancelled for the day. Please be aware of how this happened and how it is communicated:
In a nutshell, Mrs Elizabeth Radnidge and Mr Joe Sandric call the weather/incident by 7am, Joe makes the decision then contacts other colleges in our region, Mr Brett Tanner contacts staff via email and text by 7.15am, Mrs Sharlene Duggan contacts families via compass and text by 7.15am and Joe contacts buses.
