Year 10 Students explore GYC Pathways
Year 10 students welcomed Zoe Dean, from Guilford Young College, to discuss enrolment options for Years 11 and 12. Zoe provided counsel and support to our students who are considering academic and VET pathways at College. Our students received the newly printed GYC subject handbooks to peruse during Work Studies classes and to take home to discuss with families.
Year 7 Ceramics, an update on some completed work from last term.
The Year 7 pinch pot animals have returned from Ian Clare and they all look fabulous. The second group of year 7 ceramicists are about to start on their pinch pot birds, so watch this space.
The Resilience Project
St James are proud to partner with the Resilience Project to deliver Prep-Year 6 students with evidence-based and engaging lessons to build happiness and resilience. We will be exploring the principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy with students to develop their understanding of how these skills can benefit their everyday life. We will be working in class, as a primary school, at home and in the community to build students' capacity with these skills and to promote positive wellbeing in our wider community. We encourage you to attend the upcoming information sessions to find out more about the program and why developing wellbeing strategies is so vital for our students.
