Happening at SJCC
Buddies Program
Last week Year 6 and Kinder started our Buddies Program. This will be where we meet every week to work with one another to complete a variety of tasks. We all had a great time and look forward to when we can see each other again!
Year 1 News!
Year 1 has been learning about instructional texts and recipes. Last week, we began the day looking at the sequencing of steps involved in making jam sandwiches. Then we looked at how butter was made in the 'olden days' (as the students say) as part of our past and present social science unit. Using this information we then created butter and made our fairy bread recipes. The students particularly liked seeing (and tasting) the physical changes in the cream-butter as we churned it which is also a focus of our 'marvellous materials' unit in science - what an exciting day in Year 1!

Outdoor Education Camp
Last week our Year 9/10 Outdoor Education class travelled to Fortescue Bay for their Semester camp. The students have been preparing for their camp over the last few weeks, including researching and preparing menu's for the journey as well as reviewing safety skills. As part of the camp, the students completed the day walk to Cape Hauy.
