Kindergarten have been looking at the letter ‘P’. On Monday they celebrated by having a Pirate day. They walked the plank, made treasure maps, went on a treasure hunt, made pirate pancakes, read pirate books and so much more… Shiver me Timbers- they had so much fun...  ?‍☠️☠️ ?

Jump Rope for Heart kicks off this term!

Jump Rope for Heart is the Heart Foundation’s primary school skipping challenge that helps kids move more, have fun and raise funds for lifesaving research and programs.

This year is the 40th year of Jump Rope for Heart! To celebrate this milestone, we’ve got an audacious goal to see our student Heart Heroes at St James Catholic College to log 40 hours of skipping throughout the program!

It’s important you register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising, simply follow the link below to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents

Students will be skipping throughout this term in PE lessons, during this time you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.

We will hold our school Jump Off Day on Thursday 22nd September, this will mark the end of the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their newly learned skills.

Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!

STEM MAD

STEM MAD is designed to acknowledge and promote STEM learning initiatives that address real-world problems and demonstrate how students in Catholic schools in Tasmania can take action that matters. Students are invited to design a product, service or innovation to Make A Difference (MAD) to others or the environment.

We have 3 teams from Year 3 who have been very busy in preparation for this year's competition. Cooper, Sam, and Karl with their project 'Solar Action', Jobe's project Climate Change Killer and Madalyn, Ava C, and Eloise with their project titled SSC300 (Super Solar Cooker 3000). We look forward to seeing their final entries.
