Pink Day
The College was a buzz of excitement as staff and students came dressed in Pink in support of Breast cancer Awareness month. Students were able to purchase pink food and drinks made by our Year 9/10 students at recess and lunch with all money going towards Breast Cancer research and the McGrath foundation. Congratulations to our College student leadership team for organising a very successful day.
Year 5 Australian Mathematics Curriculum
This term, our students have been diving into the fascinating world of volume, capacity, and mass as part of the Australian Mathematics Curriculum. These concepts are essential in helping students understand how to measure and compare different quantities in their everyday lives. To enhance their understanding, students have engaged in a variety of hands-on practical activities. These activities have included using measuring instruments such as graduated cylinders, measuring cups, and scales. By physically measuring liquids and solids, students have gained a deeper appreciation for the differences between volume (the amount of space an object occupies), capacity (the maximum amount that something can contain), and mass (the amount of matter in an object).
Year 9/10 Outdoor Education
Last week year 9/10 Outdoor Education completed their end of year camp which fulfilled the Duke of Ed qualifying journey. We were based at the beautiful Fortescue Bay and enjoyed some great weather, wildlife and activities such as stuffing, bush walking, camping and beach games. Well done to all involved.
