Dear friends of St James Catholic College,
School Improvement Survey
How can you improve in anything? Feedback!
Just like any person or institution trying to better themselves, we need your feedback to affirm what we are doing well and challenge ourselves in getting better in areas we need to concentrate on.
To this end, we need your help. The help we need is for you to fill in a school Improvement Survey sent out to you by Insight SRC.
Insight SRC is conducting a school improvement survey on behalf of St James Catholic College and Catholic Education Tasmania. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents' perceptions of their children’s experience of school.
The results will benefit everyone within the school by providing valuable information about the ways in which the school can use staff, student and parent input to plan programs and activities to improve your child's experience at school.
While your participation is voluntary, it is important to remember that the success of this important project is dependent on the involvement of all parents.
In the middle of the term you will receive communication with login details for you to participate.

Book Week Parade
Last Wednesday we celebrated Book Week with our annual Book Week parade.
What a magic morning we had as students, staff and families gathered together to admire the kaleidoscope of creative costumes. There were plenty of smiles and laughter as we shared in the joy of treasuring our favourite book characters.
We were also fortunate enough to host a visit from Huon Valley Mayor, Sally Doyle, who selected a 'best dressed' class and presented them with a book award.

Year 5 Exciting Fortnight: Carlo Acutis Exhibition and Volleyball Tournament Highlights
The past fortnight has been busy with off-site activities for Year 5 students. They were fortunate to be invited to the Carlo Acutis exhibition at St Aloysius, where they learned about the history of this soon-to-be Saint, viewed his relic, and created their own 3rd class relics. Additionally, they participated in the much-anticipated Huon & Channel Volleyball tournament at the Kingborough Sports Centre. The girls' team performed exceptionally well, going undefeated in the Round Robin seeding phase to become the number one seeds and the only all-girls team. The boys' team also had a strong showing, winning all but one game in the post-seed rounds. The students can be very proud of their performances in what is predominantly a Year 6 tournament. It is anticipated that this group will be back next year for the Group A playoff final against each other. Well done, Year 5!
Year 3 and 4 Lego Builds
Year 3 and 4 have been working hard on their lego builds for the Bixhibitiobn Kids Competition. Primary School students across Southern Tasmania are invited every year to compete in the lego building competition run by the Tasmanian Brick Enthusiasts. On Thursday we held the in house competition to determine who will be selected to attend the Brixhibition Hobart Event. Stay tuned!
